Twitter-Powered METRONOME for KMFA Austin’s Classical Radio Station

For its 50th anniversary, Austin's classical station KMFA 89.9 FM has installed a dynamic data-art metronome in Austin, USA. The public sculpture translates live, geotagged tweets from the area into a visual display: as local online activity increases, the metronome ticks faster and its colors shift, creating a real-time pulse for the neighborhood.

The installation, located in the heart of Austin, USA, is designed to mirror the community's vibrant energy and challenge perceptions of classical radio. "We want people to give KMFA a tryit's not a stereotypical, stodgy station," they share. This project visually connects the station to the modern, tech-savvy rhythm of Austin, USA.
