In this body of work, I combined the figure with abstraction into a hybrid I called the “figurative abstract.” The early figurative abstract drawings conveyed the interaction of my past and present life experiences in duality. I expressed an inner world standing in front of water, and I could see the water’s reflection in my own shadow.
